Convenient location. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee and grocery store. Nice, safe neighborhood. I stayed in the apartment. Clean and fully outfitted. Bed comfey. There was even laundry available if you had an extended stay. It feels more like home than hotel.
My husband and I loved Terry's cottage! It's very unique in design and also very comfortable and relaxing. We came and went and the cottage was perfect the hideaway from the mainstream. We kept some breakfast, snacks and drinks in the refrigerator, ready to take on the road. There's a coffee bean press for making some fresh, hot coffee. All idea amenities. AND, you'll love Terry! Bright and cheery and funny! Very accommodating too!
Anyone coming to Portland should stay at the Everett Street Guesthouse. My husband and I stayed in the lower-level apartment, and it was cozy yet spacious, well-appointed, and private. Terry is a great host, and provided us with some excellent dining recommendations. The bed is super comfortable, soft enough for my husband and firm enough for me. The neighbourhood is fantastic, and Terry provides a handy booklet of all nearby amenities. We felt so at home...we were tempted to move in permanently!
Thanks so much for your lovely comments. Those reading this should know it relates to my other VRBO rental on the same property, #278095. Thanks and come back again! Terry Rusinow, owner
Terry was very friendly and accommodating. The cottage was everything we expected and more. We definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a cute place to stay with shops/restaurants and public transportation very close by. Thanks Terry!
Thanks for your comments, Melissa. Enjoyed having you. Come again.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Everett Street Guesthouse. We stayed in the cottage that is detached from the house. First, the whole property is beautifully maintained. The cottage is no exception! It was beautiful, comfortable, and well-equipped! Although we were only there for 2 nights, it really felt like a home away from home and quiet refuge from the city! Terri was wonderful and made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. Next time we come to Portland, we know where we will be staying!
Thanks so much for the kind words...enjoyed having you both!
My husband and I were visiting Portland for the 1st time after my daughter and her husband moved there for Grad school. We totally lucked out finding the "Cottage" 2 blocks from their apartment. It is lovely and has everything you need! We were pleasantly surprised that there were even morning breakfast treats along with coffee and juice! The owner lives on site so if you need anything, she is there to help. The bed, hands down, is one of the most comfortable ones I have ever slept in....very nice linens and lots of blankets. We highly recommend.....we will be back for sure!
We had an amazing stay at the Everett Street Guesthouse this past Christmas Holiday. It far exceeded my expectations. I was surprised at the cleanliness, newness, and tasteful decor of the main house and cottage. We stayed at the Cottage, which by the way does not adequately describe the space. When I think of cottage, I think of old, quaint, detached space. Yes, the space is detached from the main house, but it is not old nor quaint. It is luxurious and tasteful. Everything from the art to the furnishings is regal. I could not imagine staying anywhere else! The property owner is an amazing and gracious host. She's very personable and makes you feel truly at home. Worried about the distance to downtown/pearl district from the guesthouse. You shouldn't be. The 20 Tri Met bus is a mere three short blocks from the residence. Ti-Met offers fast/safe frequent service to the downtown core. With buses running every 10 to 15 minutes, it's only a 10 minute bus ride to downtown. Also, the neighborhood offers plenty of dining options if you choose to stay closer to "home'. I would recommend LeVante. It's a world class dining experience, steps away from the guesthouse and cottage.
We had a wonderful time in Portland for a three night getaway in late November 2014. The cottage is private, quiet, and in an amazing character neighbourhood. Everything we needed and more was there for us. Just a short 10 minute walk from Laurelhurst (restaurants, shops) as well as great places along E Burnside. only a 5 minute walk to an extremely convenient bus route, which gave us access to the entire city - we barely used our car at all. We'll certainly be back, as the proximity to one of our favourite live music locations is merely walking distance!
My husband and I stayed here for six days in April 2012, and loved it! The cottage is both functional and beautiful, with everything you need -- including a washer and dryer! -- for a private, restful stay. We came by train and never needed a car, thanks to the cottage's convenient location for both walking and taking the bus to a wide range of Portland eateries and other attractions. We'll definitely return to this lovely, comfortable place!
Had a family wedding to attend in Portland and stayed at the guest house cottage. Charming and MINUS the frills - a comfortable, contemporary, well appointed space and private too. After 3 days the place felt like home. -Denise A.
Thanks so much--enjoyed having you both here! Terry
I stayed here for 5 nights in mid-October, 2009, and was very pleased with the cottage. It was in a great location - grocery store, movie theatre, shopping all within walking distance, plus close to Portland's incredible public transit system. The cottage itself was very well-equipped and comfortable, and having 2 outside spaces was very nice. I recommend it for a couple, or for a single person.
We stayed a week here and found it to be a very relaxing oasis within the city - seclusion with a lovely garden area, 2 patios, sounds of rushing water and birds. The inside of the cottage is also very nice, it has a great location, and the innkeeper is dedicated to giving you the very best service.
Was great meeting you both and so glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you back in the future! Terry
